GPA

Postby khoseit Wed Jun 08, 2016 11:03 am

My GPA is subpar at best (below 3.0). How heavily is GPA weighed in determining whether or not you are selected?

If you are going to ask a question like that something more than a one sentence drive by post might be a good idea. A correctly spelled, capitalized, and grammatically correct thread title might not be a bad idea either.

If you are not going to offer any valuable insight please do not respond to my thread. This is a forum to ask questions to help each other out. No need for negativity on here.
I had to re-type my comments a couple times. Bottom line, don't show up to this forum and get aggressive with people who have been here for a while. If you cannot form a complete post, and are unwilling to cooperate, maybe this isn't the place for you.

Getting back to your post, a sub-par GPA won't kill your chances. The total Soldier concept applies in your case. Go to your OCS board, crush the questions, and present yourself in a positive light and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

A 300 APFT likely means a lot more to the board than a high GPA, at least for currently serving soldiers. It's the Army after all.

Yeah, you're right. It's all about perception. Terrible worker but a PT stud? Promote ahead of peers!
